The Last Word involves building a crossword puzzle by deciphering and entering the lone missing 'Across' word. Requiring minimal deductive reasoning, this puzzle is designed to introduce visitors to some of the techniques needed to solve our more challenging daily crossword building puzzles.
'Normal' and 'Hard' mode puzzles are published each day with puzzle difficulty increasing as the week progresses. Monday puzzles will require the least effort to solve and Sunday puzzles will be the most demanding.
All of the words in each puzzle are valid for use in Scrabble® and many other popular word games. Definition links are provided once a puzzle is solved.
Players try to figure out the crossword grid contents by guessing letters. When a letter is guessed, all occurrences of the letter will appear in the crossword grid. If the puzzle is not solved before a predetermined number of wrong guesses, the player loses, Dang!

The Crossword Cypher involves building a crossword puzzle by entering 'Across' words starting at the top and working your way to the bottom until the grid is filled and contains only valid words.
